Lycosidae (Wolf Spider)*

I believe that the images on this page show a male spider from the Family  Lycosidae (Wolf Spiders). They are all of the same specimen. I found this spider crawling across our concrete sidewalk in Logy Bay, Newfoundland, at about 5:00 PM local time (NDT).

This specimen's body length was 9 mm.  It was photographed on 2006-05-06, with a Canon 20D and EF 180mm f/3.5L Macro USM lens in daylight supplemented with a flash.

*Caveat:  I am NOT an entomologist and, as with all my 'bug' pictures, I am NOT positive about the accuracy of my taxonomic identification.
