Crane Fly Specimens

All these images show live flies before they were chilled to death and preserved as specimens.  Click the thumbnail for a larger image and then click the resulting image again for a version that is probably larger still and has no frame.  If your web browser automatically resizes large images to make them smaller, then you may have to click this image also to see it at full size.  The Lat/Long coordinates are linked to KMZ files that will open in Google Earth; provided, of course, that the Google Earth software is running on your computer. Comments:  This fly was sitting on the oustide of our front window during a light drizzle.  The two leftmost photos (33374 & 33377) were taken through the glass from inside the house.  The others were taken from outside the house.  The photo second from left shows the full extent of the fly's legs while it was stationary on the glass.
