'Polar Bear Dip'
New Year's Day 2008
St. Phillips, Newfoundland

The 'Dip' is normally held in the open ocean outside the breakwater.  Because of the dangerous surf conditions caused by high winds, the 'Dip' was held in the boat basin.  The air temperature was -2 °C and the wind was 52 Km/hr with a wind chill of -11 °C.  There were only 4 'swimmers' this year; one woman and three men.
